Can't get enough of the place. Absolutely wonderful. The Dairy is marvellous. The weather has been perfect. Really relaxing holiday, Tennants Sunday lunch was brilliant. Thank you Diane & Andrew, you are wonderful hosts, you think of everything. Looking forward to October.
This is our second visit to The Dairy. The property is as immaculate, warm & welcoming as before. Despite the rain, we've enjoyed walks & visits in this stunning countryside. Diane & Andrew are always friendly & willing to help. The design & attention to detail continues to impress. Our week has flown and we're sad to leave.
Our 6th visit! Home from home after a long period going nowhere. Found nice bakery in Askrigg & the cafe in Bainbridge - both excellent. Also Himalayan Gardens - lovely but accessibility poor - lots of steps & stony paths. See you in September.
After several visits to The Dairy, we find new improvements each time, latest is the bread maker, cooking for arrival - wonderful! Thank you Diane and Andrew for everything. We felt really Covid Safe. Take care.
Another wonderful week at The Dairy. We finally tried the fish & chip van on Tuesday evening - really delicious. We also visited the Bake-Well bakery in Askrigg at Diane's suggestion and really glad we did. All in addition to our usual haunts. The cottage & our hosts, all always, perfect, with 'no detail' too small to be overlooked. We look forward to returning in the autumn when, hopefully, the last bastions of Covid & lockdown will be truly behind us and we can once again eat in at local eateries. That said, still a wonderful, perfect holiday in the meantime. Thank you Diane & Andrew for all you do. xx
.... and relax! As always, the cottage, the Dales & the Howarths have helped a sense of normality. Even the weather has behaved. Wonderful to be back and spend time in my happy place. See you in July! x
Another wonderful stay in The Dairy where the welcome is warm, the facilities fantastic and the ambience amazing! Nothing is too much trouble. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the complimentary milk, butter, cheese, biscuits etc a nice touch. The Rosé Terrace seating area is a great addition which enhances the property perfectly. We look forward as always to our return.
Another wonderful and idyllic stay here. Thank you for creating this fabulous and beautiful country retreat that we look forward to returning to year after year. Gorgeous scenery, luxury cottage, brilliant weather and fabulous hosts.
We waited 5 months for the chance to stay & were lucky enough to be the first guests back at The Dairy following a 3 month lockdown. Everything was perfect - including the weather! Diane & Andrew are perfect hosts - unobtrusive but so attentive. We can't wait to come back & totally understand why it is so popular.
The Dairy worked its magic
and gave us Christmas cheer.
It was just what we needed,
after such a dreadful year.
At times we were uncertain,
can we stay, or must we go.
The news - it worsened daily,
but Diane kept us in the know.
It’s been a different Christmas,
15 those we’ve done before.
But very happy, nonetheless,
which we’re so grateful for.
Now 2020 is behind us,
a New Year has begun.
We pray our war with Covid
will very soon be won!
So thank you Diane & Andrew
for everything you do.

Well, visit number 6 to your wonderful Dairy! We're so sorry that due to lockdown number 2, our visit was shorter than planned. We have, however, had an amazing few days enjoyed sunshine, showers & snow! The Dales winter scenery has been amazing and just what we all need in these troubled times. Roll on our next visit and thank you both for making every visit to 'Cottage in the Dales' so very special.
