We’ve genuinely lost count of how many visits we’ve made to your wonderful cottages (editor = 31st visit!) and we’re already looking forward to our next visit! Have visited all our regular haunts and got to Cumbria to see the wonerful Levens Hall and Gardens. Then our top treat was to get to Newby Hall to vsit the amazing Harrogate Autumn Flower Show. Our fifth time at this wonderful cottage. So lovely to see Diane and Andrew and a great welcome as always. Weather has been amazing, lovely to walk in. Found a great place to eat in Bedale called Hamson - expensive but worth it. A great app for walking - the new Yorkshire Dales app. Did Cotter Force, Garsdale, Grimwith, Old Gang, Semerwater & Smardale Gill - really easy to follow. Also Aysgarth. Excellent pizzas at the White Goose Pizza Co. Made use of the 25% off Newby Hall voucher - very lovely hall and gardens. As always it’s been an excellent stay. Thank you so much Diane and Andrew for everything. See you in 2028.

The June heatwave 2026 - there was nowhere we would rather have been than up here in Bishopdale. What luck to have booked this time and to have been out of the horrendous heat of the south east. The weather here has been glorious and just right. We visited our favourite haunts round Cray, Arncliffe, Yockenthwaite, Hawes and Semerwater. It was such a pleasure to be outside all the time immersed in nature. Coats, jumpers and trousers all remained unworn. Then each day to return to the luxury and comfort of The Byre was just perfect. Every room is a joy to be in. Andrew and Diane could not be kinder, helpful or more thoughtful hosts. It’s wonderful to stay somewhere privately owned, and by people who really do care about their guests. And the garden is paradise. Thank you Diane and Andrew for everything.
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage, Thanks Diane and Andrew you have thought of everything anyone would need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We have loved the peace and quiet, bird song and beautiful garden.

We love our time here, and always look forward to returning, It is difficult to express in word alone, how amazing both of the cottages are, along with the gardens, the area and above all, the welcome of both Diane and Andrew. It has to be experienced, Highlights have been meals at the Wensleydale Heifer, the Sandpiper Inn, and for the more traditional pub meal, but nevertheless fabulous ambience, the Street Head Inn. The Himalayan Gardens and Sculpture Park was well worth the visit, all of the seasonal rododendrons were fully in flower, which set the scene wonderfully. Back next year!
