Guest Book - The Byre
This is our fourth visit to Cottage in the Dales and we have booked for 2026 and 2027. I think that says a lot. I just love it here, so comfortable and everything you could wish for. It was sunshine for two weeks. Thank you Diane and Andrew.
Our first visit to The Byre but not to Diane and Andrew's hospitality, which is second to none! The Byre is better than the cottage in West Burton and I didn't think I would ever say that. Weather was glorious! Thank you Diane we will come again next year.
Yet another wonderful stay at Cottage in the Dales - our first time in The Byre. Cosy cottage for two with beautiful antique finishes. The warmest of welcomes as always from Diane and Andrew. Thanks again for a stunning retreat to add to our memories. Looking forward to August 2026 already.

Back again! Despite both us having the dreaded spring lurgy, we still managed to have a wonderful time. Weather absolutely glorious and lucky enough to bag an extra three days. Gorgeous cottage. Lacks for nothing. Already booed again for next year. Why wouldn't we!
We've had a lovely break. Crisp, bright, sunny days and returning to old haunts. Then back, at day's end, to the comfort of The Byre.

Another brilliant trip to The Byre, even the weather has been perfect! We've visited Hawes, Richmond, Kipling Hall, Harlow Carr and even managed to catch the filming of All Creatures Great and Small in Grassington - such fun! Thank you Andrew and Diane for everything.

Our second stay at Cottage in the Dales - this time, The Byre, which we almost fell in love with. The cottage has so much character. The kitchen is very well equipped - we could prepare a lot of decent meals from the wonderful produce we retrieved from Mainsgill Farmshop and Campbell’s. Loved the Christmas decorations at Castle Howard, Afternoon Tea at Betty’s and the ‘Behind the Scenes’ Tour at Tennants. A treat at Sunday carvery lunch at the Street Head Inn and the fine dining at the Heifer. Already booked to return in 2026 and looking forward to coming back. Thank you Diane and Andrew for your wonderful hospitality - Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.
